Simulation -- Step by Step

  1. State in which events occur. Select a state from the drop down list.
  2. Days to simulate. Fewer days give faster run times, more days give better statistical estimates.
  3. Crashes per day. Average number of motor vehicle crashes reported by police per day.
  4. Vehicles per crash. Average number of vehicles involved in reported crashes.
  5. Occupants per vehicle. Average number of occupants in reported vehicles.
  6. EMS injury patients per day. Average number of ambulance runs for injured persons per day.
  7. EMS injury transports per day. Average number of ambulance transports for injured persons per day.
  8. EMS crash patients per day. Average number of ambulance runs for persons injured in crashes per day.
  9. Hospital injury patients per day. Average number of injured persons treated in hospitals per day, both admitted and not admitted.
  10. Hospital injury admissions per day. Average number of injured persons admitted to hospitals per day.
  11. Hospital crash patients per day. Average number of persons injured in crashes and treated in hospitals per day.
  12. Percent duplicates or multiples. Percentage of cases resulting in two or more records in a single data table.
  13. Specify Simulated Data Fields. Click on Specify Sim Data to display a datasheet listing all available Simulated Data Fields. Enter real field name, realistic probability of error, and realistic probability of missing for any field reported in your real data.
  14. Create Simulated Data Tables. Click on Create Sim Data to create simulated Crash, EMS, and Hospital data tables using all of your specifications.
  15. View Simulated Data Tables. Click on View Sim Data to display simulated Crash, EMS, and Hospital data tables as datasheets.
