Using Reference Locations. Proximity of event locations can be used in a linkage model to help determine match probabilities. To be effective, event locations must be coded in the same way in the tables to be linked. These tables of reference locations can help you do this. For example, you could use the Zip Codes table to convert City Name to Zip Code, or vice versa. Or, you could convert MCDs in one file and Zip Codes in another both to Latitude/Longitude positions and test for close locations (say, Delta Miles <= 25). Location datasheets are displayed here for a specific state. Select your state on the Options Tab.
