Test Pass Specs -- Guidelines

  1. When you select Estimate Total Matches then you will be asked for a test condition such as EMS.Vehicle1 <> “N/A”. The condition can apply to either source and the test result is the number of rows satisfying the condition. The test will give the same results for every pass.

  2. The Sum Join Information test adds the information content of all join fields. The sum should be approximately equal to the cutoff weight. There are two answers because information content is often different in different sources.

  3. The Count Candidate Pairs test creates a join query based on your join specifications and counts the rows returned by the query.

  4. The Count Missing Values test estimates the proportion of candidate pairs skipped by all passes because of missing values. The number should drop as you add new passes that find candidates skipped by earlier passes.

  5. When you select Test Run Match Pass then you will be asked whether to stop the test after creating frequency tables and queries. The other tests do not require input.
